As a prior Enterprise Applications intern and a future DevOps Engineer at Molex, I have gained many different skills that I will be able to use once I graduate. Below are the most influential skills that I have gained through working in a Global Digital Organization.

  1. Experience with working on Global Teams

    1. Many of the meetings that I was involved in had multiple people from outside of the United States. The main team that I worked with was based in Bangalore, India, with other teams that I was involved with being one in Dongguan, China. Having employees who are comfortable with working on teams in different countries is something that is extremely important for a Global Company, which I am very comfortable with.

  2. Skilled with Automation Testing

    1. Having worked automation testing throughout my Internship, using Tricentis Tosca, I have experience that many other college students do not have. Automation Testing is integral for a large organization, and having people with prior knowledge of how to do it is not only extremely helpful, but also cost effective due to not having to train them and instead they can instantly start working.

  3. Experienced with Multiple Different Coding Languages

    1. Throughout my educational career, I have learned many different programming languages. Those include Java, C++, Python, C#, VBA, SAP, SQL, and Tricentis Tosca. By having the initial understanding of how programming languages work, and experience with many of them, I am able to learn new languages in a shorter amount of time than others without as much knowledge of programming languages, so should a company not use one of the languages that I already know, I will be able to learn how to use it in a shorter amount of time than the average college student.

  4. Fresh Ideas

    1. As someone who will be fresh out of college, I bring in new ideas that others inside of the company that have been using the same systems for years may not think of. Having a brand new set of eyes is integral to improving processes that are already in place.

  5. Experience Working on a Team Focused on Improving the Company

    1. As part of my internship, I was on a team where I was helping gather success stories from within the company in order to spread knowledge of what works well on projects, which ends up helping other projects be successful.
